How to find the right book for your child?
Use the Lexile level shown on your child's MAP test report/goal sheet. Then, Click on the button below.You will find a book based on your child's Lexile level. EXPECTATIONS
Students are expected to read books daily. Completed Reading Logs Daily Fluency Passages (Fluency rates were recently adjusted.) By 3rd grade your child should be reading a minimum of 87 w.p.m. (words per minute) at the beginning of the year. By the end of 3rd grade, your child should be reading at about 120 w.p.m. Higher level readers should set a goal of 120 w.p.m. If your child receives a timed fluency passage. You will need to set a timer for 1 minute and track his or her mistakes. Mark through any words read incorrectly or skipped. Circle the last word read within one minute time frame.
